Tropical Spice Smoothie

½ cup of frozen papaya

½ cup of frozen pineapple

½ of an apple

½ of a pear

1 tsp of fresh ginger

2 sprinkles of cinnamon

1 cup of ice

Ginger and cinnamon are both super powerful spices that promote gut health and the metabolism. Papaya and pineapple have soluble and insoluble fiber, both which really help keep things moving in the digestive tract and prevent any backups that could cause bloating.

The ACV Smoothie

1 banana

1 cucumber

1/c coconut water

1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar

½ tsp of fresh ginger

1 cup of ice

Apple cider vinegar has a very strong flavor (so be warned), but it also has amazing properties that will kick bloating’s butt. The potassium from the banana will help if your bloating is caused by water retention, as will the coconut water.

Blackberry and Almond Smoothie

½ c frozen blackberries

½ c of almond milk

1 banana

1 tbsp of almond butter

1 tbsp of chia seeds

1 handful of fresh baby spinach

½ cup of ice

Blackberries, spinach, and chia seeds are all anti-inflammatory and will help relax the digestive muscles so that everything can flow smoothly. Almond butter will also help to coat the digestive tract with oil for the same benefit. Again, banana is high in potassium which will help release retained water.

Super Green Anti-Bloat Smoothie

1 avocado

2 tsp of spirulina powder

1 cup of frozen pineapple

1 sliced apple with peel

1 tbsp of fresh-squeezed lime juice

½ cucumber

1 cup of ice

Avocado contains healthy fats that keep your digestive tract coated with oils. Apples and pineapple have plenty of soluble and insoluble fiber to help push out any back ups in the gut. Spirulina powder is a super food of very high nutritional content that will help detox the body of any toxic waste that can make the digestive system sluggish.

Kombucha Kiwi Smoothie

1 cup of ginger kombucha

½ cup of frozen kiwi

½ cup of cucumber

1 tbsp of chopped cilantro

½ tsp fresh ginger

¼ c of yogurt

½ cup of ice

Kombucha is a fermented drink that is amazing for the digestive system. It has loads of enzymes that help to break down any extra foods stuck in the intestines which makes it great for anti-bloating. The cilantro in this smoothie also has some digestive healing properties and the kiwi contains lots of bloat-fighting fiber.

Nutty Grapefruit and Mint Smoothie

½ cup of grapefruit flesh

½ cup of frozen strawberries

1 banana

10 cashews

¼ cup of oats

2 fresh mint leaves

1 cup of ice

Mint helps to produce bile in the mouth and liver that will help digest any stuck foods. Grapefruit is a tummy slimming powerhouse. The cashews are another nut that will keep the digestive tract lubricated. Strawberries contain fiber as do the oats.

As you look at the list of ingredients in many of these smoothies, I’m sure you will notice a pattern. Fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, and enzymes all helps to de-bloat the body. You will also probably notice that many of the ingredients are used in more than one smoothie. These foods are considered probiotics, or gut-healing, foods. Keeping the digestive system happy will help the entire body run smoothly. When things slow down in that department, we can start to feel the effects almost immediately. We can gain weight, feel fatigued and have a foggy brain.

Use these smoothies to combat bloat, or create your own recipe with these ingredients and drink to your health!
